Three die in Taiwan floods

At least three people have been killed in a tropical storm in Taiwan.

Among those who died was a woman who drowned in a lift which was flooded in a basement.

The mayor of the southern city of Kaohsiung Frank Hsieh described the flooding as the worst in 40 years.

Taiwan has been hit by three serious storms in recent weeks.

South East Asia is regularly struck by typhoons during the summer months.
