Russian troops detain Chechen rebel
Russian forces in Chechnya say they have detained an influential Chechen rebel commander.
The field commander, named as Ramzan Yusupov, was detained during a special operation on Tuesday in the republic's Urus-Martan district. Pro-Moscow prosecutors in Chechnya have launched a criminal case against the commander, accusing him of forming and taking part in illegal armed groups. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
