Two soldiers killed in shooting

Officials in Russia say two soldiers have been killed in an attack on a checkpoint near a military airfield in the southern Russian city of Voronezh.

An air force spokesman Alexander Drobyshevsky said a pistol had been stolen and an investigation was underway.

The motive for the attack is unknown but observers say similar incidents in the past have been carried out by thieves trying to steal weapons or equipment from military bases
