Nepal rebels 'capture police' |

| An attack by armed Maoist rebels on a police post in western Nepal has left one police officer dead, one injured and the fate of more than seventy others uncertain. Unconfirmed reports suggest they may have been abducted by the rebels. The incident was one of a series of attacks on police posts on Thursday during a general strike called by the Maoist rebels who are protesting against tough new security regulations and the massacre last month of the principal members of Nepal's Royal family.
