| Dan Dare, the comic strip hero, created by a Southport vicar in the 1950s, is to get a multi-million pound make-over for a new TV series and a major film. The Space Pilot who entertained millions of avid Eagle comic readers, is to lose his chisel jaw, and will become younger. And instead of a military uniform, he will be wearing pink trousers.
