Palestinian woman 'shot dead' by Israelis

Reports from the West Bank say Israeli troops have shot dead a Palestinian woman.

Palestinian sources say the woman was killed near an Israeli checkpoint south of Hebron when troops opened fire on the taxi in which she was travelling.

In another development, the Israelis say they have foiled an attempted bomb attack in the northern Israeli town of Afula.

They say they arrested a Palestinian man, and defused two devices.
