Fears for Hong Kong autonomy

The Hong Kong legislature gives initial approval to a controversial bill that critics say will give China the power to dismiss the territory's leader. Under the proposal, an 800-person committee will choose Hong Kong's next leader - but Beijing can fire the person. Independent and pro-democracy members of Hong Kong's parliament say the government is demolishing a crucial pillar of the autonomy the territory was promised when it was returned to China four years ago.
