Mozambique dam funding doubt

The African Development Bank has denied it has any plans in the pipeline to fund a proposed dam to control flood waters, 70 km west of the capital, Maputo.

Just over a week ago, the Mozambique Government was reported to have said the dam was expected to cost three-hundred-and-fifty-million dollars, and was to be funded by the ADB.

More than 700 people died last year in some of the country's worst flooding.
