Milosevic supporters sue ministers over extradition

Supporters of the former president, Slobodan Milosevic, say they have filed charges against Yugoslav ministers for allowing his extradition to the International War Crimes Tribunal.

A spokesman for Mr Milosevic's Socialist Party said they are also planning similar moves against the Serbian government which ordered the extradition.

He said transferring Mr Milosevic to the Hague was a violation of Yugoslav and Serbian constitutions which forbid extraditions to foreign countries.

The reformist ministers say the move is legal because Mr Milosevic was not handed over to another country but to a United Nations court that Yugoslavia and Serbia are compelled to co-operate with.
