Man charged with attacking head teacher

A man has appeared in court charged with injuring a head teacher after a school disco.

Andrew Altham, 34, of Lowestoft, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court, charged with wounding with intent.

The offence is alleged to have taken place after a disco at Foxborough Middle School in Lowestoft on Friday 29 June.

The head teacher of the school, Michael Iliffe, was taken to James Paget Hospital, Gorleston, with a fractured skull and bruising.

The case has been adjourned until 7 September.

Mr Altham was remanded in custody.
