Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore is said to have finally officially married her comedian boyfriend Tom Green in California.

The couple - who have sent out hoax reports of a supposed union in the past - married in Malibu at the weekend, according to trade paper Variety.

Guests included actresses Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, Barrymore's co-stars in 2000's hit movie remake of Charlie's Angels, which Barrymore also produced.

Barrymore, 26, and Green, 29, were engaged in July 2000.

Their marriage ceremony is said to have taken place on a secluded enclave of Malibu's beach on either Saturday or Sunday.

Other guests included Barrymore's long-estranged Hungarian mother, Jaid Barrymore.

Mother and daughter have had a tempestuous relationship in the past. Jaid Barrymore once tried to sell her daughter's baby clothes on the internet.

Green's parents had also flown in from Ottawa for the occasion.

It was not known if Barrymore's father, John Barrymore Jr, was present.

The marriage is Road Trip star Green 's first and Barrymore's second. Her first husband was British bar owner Jeremy Thomas.

Fire

Green and Barrymore have told the media on several occasions that they have married - only to deny it later.

The last report was in April this year. Before, they chose the London première of Charlie's Angels to make an "announcement".

The couple were alerted to the fire by their dog Flossie.

Barrymore become a global star as a seven-year-old when she appeared in ET in 1982.

But she spent her childhood and teenage years battling with drug addiction and alcoholism.

After rehabilitation she returned to the screen, and has since established herself as an actress and producer, starring in movies such as The Wedding Singer and Scream.

Barrymore is the grand-daughter of esteemed actor John Barrymore.

Her great-grandfather was the silent film actor Maurice Costello.

Acclaimed film-maker Steven Spielberg, the director of ET, is her godfather.
