Thatcher: Euro is repugnant |

| The former prime minister of the UK, Lady Thatcher told the BBC that the thought of losing sterling was "utterly repugnant" to her. "If you do not have charge of your own currency, you do not have charge of you own freedom" she said. Prime Minister Tony Blair, in a newspaper article denies planning to "bounce" Britain into the euro after the election.
