Returning Mummy holds top spot
![]() The Mummy Returns has held on to top spot
The Mummy Returns has held on to the top of the UK box office chart with takings topping £10m ($14.2m).
But the Johnny Depp biopic Blow failed to make a dent on the top three in its first week as the top of the charts remained unchanged. Bridget Jones's Diary is still going strong at number two, seven weeks after its release. Returns for the weekend of 25-27 May saw The Mummy Returns, starring Rachel Weisz and Brendan Fraser, take just over £3m ($4.3m).
During the bank holiday weekend alone it took £1m (£1.4m). Bollywood success Poor reviews for Captain Corelli's Mandolin have not deterred cinema-goers from seeing Nicholas Cage in the big screen adaptation of Louis De Bernieres' novel. Still at number three in the box office charts, it took £576,099 ($818,807) over the weekend period. Two newcomers in the top 10 see cocaine tale Blow enter at number four and David Arquette's puerile children's flick See Spot Run at number five. Australian comedy The Dish is at six, followed by Spy Kids at number seven. Bollywood success story Ek Rishtaa - The Bond of Love - has slipped down two places to number 10, but is still only being shown in 15 theatres around the country.
