French rap star Joey Starr has had his one-month jail sentence for illegal possession of a weapon upheld by an appeals court.

The leader of rap group NTM has already carried out his sentence which was imposed after police found a gun and small amounts of cocaine at his home.

Starr - real name Didier Morville - had his fine for the offence slashed by 75% to £2,275 because the original fine exceeded the legal limit.

The rapper has previous convictions for assault, insulting police and for attacking a female flight attendant on an aeroplane.
