Man 'seriously ill' after stabbing

The victim was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital
A man is seriously ill in Craigavon Area Hospital following a stabbing incident in Portadown.

He was walking along the Brownstown Road in the town with two other people at 0145 BST on Saturday.

They were approached by two men in a red car, one of whom was armed with a knife.

The victim, a 33-year-old Portadown man, was stabbed in the side and stomach.

Police are appealing for information about the incident.

A hospital spokesperson said the man was seriously ill, but stable.
