Survivor Charlotte tipped to win
Trouble for the Helang tribe
Ousted Survivor contestant Uzma Bashir Sheikh has predicted police constable Charlotte Hobrough will win ITV's £1 million reality show.
Viewers saw the children's nursery owner kicked out of the programme's Helang tribe, one of two marooned on the island of Pulau Tiga, in the South China Sea. Unlike previous evictees Jenny "JJ" Adams, and Nick Carter, who were both sent packing for their bossiness, Uzma, from Watford, Hertfordshire, was forced out as her fellow contestants thought she could not physically cope with any further challenges.
"I just couldn't eat the rats. As far as I was concerned, it wasn't necessary. "In fact, only two of us didn't eat the rats." Contestant Simon Dunkley caught the rats in a tin can and poured water onto them until they drowned, before cooking them on a fire. "I was really offended by the drowning," she said. The 30-year-old said she was happy to leave. "Quite frankly, I'd had enough," she said. "I wasn't prepared to be party to bitching and slagging each other down." 'Taken over' She said of fellow contestant Charlotte - whose extra-marital affair with another contestant Adrian Bauckham made the headlines last week - that she can "win people over". "When you are there you get taken over by her but when you go away, you wonder whether there was something else there," she added. "She will definitely go much further down the line." She added the couple's affair kept the other members of the tribe awake at night.
"I was the first to find out about them because I was very close with both of them. I think the rest of the tribe members realised there was something happening. "Charlotte felt guilty when she was there, but sometimes things happen." Uzma admitted to being a television "wannabe" who loved being the centre of attention, but said reality shows brought out the worst in people. "I didn't realise the factors that went into a reality show. I was too huggy and kissy, but I hope one of our team wins the million," she said. But Uzma added she would be less happy to see her tribe's Simon and Andy, who were "so desperate" to win, succeed. "I hope they don't get it," she said.
