The accident happened in Lurgan
A 72-year-old woman has died in a road accident in County Armagh.

The accident took place in Lake Street in Lurgan just before midnight on Sunday.

The woman was in a wheelchair and was being pushed by her husband when they were struck by a car.

The dead woman has been named locally as Mary Toman.

Mr Toman is being treated at Craigavon Area Hospital where his condition is described as "stable".

On the Kilwilkie Estate in Lurgan, where Mrs Toman lived with her husband, neighbours said they were a "devoted couple".

The police have described it as a tragic accident and have appealed for any witnesses to contact the station at Lurgan.

Meanwhile, the man who died following an accident in Ballynahinch on Saturday was Colin David McKibben, 35, from Willow Park in the town.

He died in hospital following the accident in Main Street.
