Powell presses Kenya on reforms |

| The US Secretary of State, Colin Powell, urges the Kenyan government to make more efforts to reform the economy and stamp out corruption. He was speaking after a meeting in Nairobi with President Daniel Arap Moi. At a news conference afterwards, President Moi appeared to sidestep a question about whether or not he would stand down next year, saying it was up to the Kenyan people to decide their country's destiny. The BBC's Ade Akintowa reports. |
