Army bomb experts investigate explosion

A pipe bomb has exploded in a predominantly loyalist estate in Ballymoney, County Antrim.

Residents of the Carnany Park area reported hearing a loud band at 0400 BST on Saturday.

No one was hurt in the incident but several houses have been evacuated.

It is understood the device exploded close to a car parked in a yard.

The police said they believe the explosion was caused by a bomb.

The attack is not believed to be sectarian.

Army bomb experts are making the bomb safe.
