Congress reaches tax compromise
The United States Congress passes a tax cut worth $1.35 trillion over 10 years. The tax cut, which was a central feature of George Bush's campaign for the Presidency, will reduce income tax and the inheritance tax. President Bush said the reduction would provide an important boost to the economy: but senior members of both parties have criticised the cut. The BBC's Johnny Dymond reports.
