Rescue workers in Jerusalem have been conducting a painstaking search of a building that collapsed on Thursday night, as hundreds of people inside celebrated a wedding.

At least 25 people were killed and more than 300 injured. There are fears that many others remain trapped beneath the rubble.

A video taken by one of the guests captured the moments of joy before the horror

Suddenly, the floor is seen to dip slightly before giving way completely and leaving a gaping hole

People, chairs and tables were sent plunging through two floors to the ground.

By daybreak, rescue workers had pulled more than 20 bodies from the debris.

More than 300 were injured, many of them seriously.

Shocked survivors described how their celebrations turned to tragedy.

Rescuers were digging with bare hands because of concerns that the rest of the building could collapse.

A special army rescue unit, experienced in handling civil disasters worldwide, was called in.
