EU aid for Sierra Leone

The European Commission has granted ten million dollars worth of aid to Sierra Leone, to support the victims of the continuing civil war.

An EU official said the money would be channelled through the EU's Humanitarian Aid Office, to cover the costs of providing emergency basic needs such as water, health care, food and shelter.
