Lithuanian President visits Russia
The Lithuanian President, Valdas Adamkus, is in Russia for a three-day official visit. Economic co-operation between the two countries, particularly long-term oil and gas supply to Lithuania, and transit issues are expected tol be the main topics of discussion. Correspondents say that Lithuania's bid to join NATO, strongly opposed by Russia, could also be discussed during Mr Adamkus's meetings with President Putin, and the Russian Prime Minister, Mikhail Kasyanov.
