Senior Kashmiri militant killed
Police in Indian-administered Kashmir say they have shot dead a senior member of the Pakistan-based militant group, Lashkar-e-Toiba. The police said that Salaudin Ayubi, a Pakistani resident and the group's acting chief, was killed in an encounter with India's counter-insurgency police force , Special Operations Group, in Budgam district, on the outskirts of Srinagar. The incident comes two days after three militants belonging to the Lashkar-e-Toiba group launched a suicide attack on a police compound in Srinagar, killing seven people, including four paramilitary personnel.
