Kenyan government sacks key economic officials
The Kenyan government has sacked two key civil servants who were appointed to revitalise the country's economy. The two senior officials, Martin Oduor-Otieno and Titus Naikuni, were closely linked with the head of the civil service, Richard Leakey, who resigned on Monday. They'd been appointed from the private sector two years ago and formed with Mr Leakey what became known as the "dream team" -- a group of six key officials with the job of turning around Kenya's failing economy. No explanation for the sackings has been given. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
