Toronto couple admit to $60m swindle

A couple from Canada have pleaded guilty to embezzling millions of dollars to finance their lavish lifestyle and rescue their private health clinic from bankruptcy.

The couple, Ron and Loren Koval, went on the run in the United States last year after details of the fraud first emerged.

They surrendered to Canadian police after their daughter was threatened with arrest.

As part of an agreement with prosecutors, Mr and Mrs Koval admitted using sixty million dollars acquired from investors to pay for luxury hotels and cars and to settle mounting debts at their Toronto clinic.

They will be sentenced on Friday.
