UNHCR driver killed in DR Congo
The United Nations Refugee agency says that one of its drivers has been killed in the west of the Democratic Republic of Congo. In a statement, the UNHCR said that the driver Jose Djamba was shot in the town of Kimpese two-hundred kilometers south of Kinshasa by four uniformed men who stopped him and demanded his vehicle. It's the fifth killing of a UNHCR employee worldwide since September. Three UNHCR workers were killed in West Timor, and one was killed in Guinea. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
