Moderates take control of Bosnian presidency
The multi-ethnic governing coalition in Bosnia-Herzegovina has taken control of the country's three-member presidency. The two nominees, Jozo Krianovic and Beriz Belkic -- both of them members of the Social Democrats -- are likely to be approved by the upper house, where the reformists have a majority. The presidency has been dominated by nationalist parties since independence nearly ten years ago. A BBC correspondent in Sarajevo says the change is likely to allow the reformists to press ahead with a full programme of legislation, and also give a more prominent role to the government.
