England footballers faced 'racist abuse'

The English football authorities have alleged that black members of the country's under twenty-one team were subjected to racist abuse during an international in Albania.

The Football Association has lodged a formal complaint with the sport's governing body in Europe, UEFA.

The association wants assurances that anyone found shouting racist taunts during the England senior team's World Cup qualifying match against Albania on Wednesday will be ejected from the ground.
