Director 'in talks' for Terminator 3
![]() Arnie career could be on road to recovery
Talks are under way to secure a director for the long-awaited Terminator 3 project, according to US reports.
It is believed Jonathan Mostow is the likely candidate to take on the sci-fi action film, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Mostow previously directed war submarine drama U-571, which won an Oscar this year for best sound. According to Variety magazine, Mostow and Schwarzenegger have had several meetings to try and firm up a deal. The Austrian actor has seen his career dip in recent years, featuring in critically-panned films as Jingle All the Way and the 6th Day. The third film in the series is likely to star Edward Furlong but Linda Hamilton will not reprise her role as Sarah Connor. Famke Janssen who starred in X Men is also been lined up to star in the futuristic movie. It was rumoured three years ago that Titanic director James Cameron, ex-husband of Hamilton, would once again take on the challenge of Terminator after directing the first two. Gladiator director Ridley Scott has also been linked to the project.
