Serial killer confesses to crimes
A Frenchman has confessed in court to raping and murdering seven young women in Paris. Guy Georges had previously maintained his innocence during his trial in the French capital, but finally admitted his guilt on Tuesday on the advice of his lawyers. The killings took place in the eastern suburbs of Paris between 1991 and 1997. Correspondents say the murders and subsequent trial have generated intense interest in France.
