The price of fame is affecting friends of Hear'Say

Obsessive fans of the pop group Hear'Say have targeted the girlfriend of Danny Foster with hate mail.

The 21-year-old has become a national heart-throb since shooting to fame in the TV series Popstars.

The group are currently number one in the charts with their first single Pure and Simple and their album was released on Monday.

Foster's 19-year-old girlfriend Chloe - a student in Canterbury, Kent - made a brief appearance on the show.

Since then, the student has been bombarded with hate mail from fans jealous of their relationship.

Foster told Heat magazine: "The letters and stuff that Chloe has been getting have been vicious.

She has never asked to be in the public eye and she certainly never asked for this

"She is trying to cope with but as you can imagine it isn't easy for her.

"She has never asked to be in the public eye and she certainly never asked for this.

"It has not been great for her recently."

The couple, who have been together for three years, are hoping the terror campaign comes to an end soon.

He added: "It has scared her and it is the most negative thing to come out of the whole experience."

Foster is not the only member of the group to find the price of fame affecting their personal life.

Police were called to investigate sinister hate mail sent to the home of Myleene Klass and a street attack on her boyfriend last month.
