EU in Balkans immigration talks
A senior European Union delegation is today beginning a two-day visit to Yugoslavia and Bosnia for talks on immigration and and human trafficking. In addition to meetings with the governments of the two countries, the EU representatives will also take part in a regional conference on the issues in Sarajevo on Thursday. Correspondents say the western Balkans has become one of the main routes of illegal immigration to Western Europe, with human traffickers were exploiting border controls in the Balkan region which had become lax during years of unrest.
