Lords reject hunting bill |

| Peers have flouted the will of the House of Commons and rejected a ban on hunting with dogs by a large majority. They have also turned down compromise proposals for a "middle way" scheme to regulate the bloodsport, leaving them on a collision course with MPs, who last month voted overwhelmingly for an outright ban. Many observers had expected peers to back the "middle way" but when it came to voting it was rejected by 202 to 122, a majority of 80. The BBC's John Pienaar reports |
