Militants attack Kashmiri police
Police in Indian-administered Kashmir say an attack by a militant suicide squad on a security forces camp in Srinagar is now over. They say that after several hours of intermittent exchanges of gunfire, four paramilitary police and two militants were dead. Reports say the militants entered the camp disguised in police uniforms. The Kashmiri group, Laskhar-e-Toyeba, which has rejected the government's ceasefire, said it was behind the attack. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
