Police arrest 3 ETA suspects

Police in Spain have arrested three people with suspected links to the Basque separatist organisation, ETA.

The arrests were made in Spain's northwestern Galicia region and in the Basque country itself.

They came a week after another Spanish politician was shot dead in an attack blamed on ETA.

Correspondents say the Spanish authorities, concerned about a possible surge in violence ahead of regional elections in May, have detained dozens of suspected ETA members in recent weeks.
