Blow for Austrian right

The far right-wing Freedom Party in Austria has lost ground in municipal elections in the capital, Vienna. With almost all of the vote counted the Freedom Party had lost nearly eight points compared with the previous election five years ago. The party's leading figure, Joerg Haider, ran a campaign in the city which had been widely criticised as racist and anti-semitic.
