| Voters are going to the polls in Germany in two separate state elections. The national ruling Social Democratic Party will be taking a close interest in the contest in Baden-Wuerttemberg where their candidate Ute Vogt is campaigning to end almost 50 years of Christian Democrat rule in the state.
