Hasina challenges Bangladeshi opposition

The Bangladeshi prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, has launched a strong attack on her political opponents and challenged them again to force her out of office if they can.

Her comments at a rally outside Dhaka were in response to recent remarks by the leader of the main opposition Bangladesh National Party, Begum Khaleda Zia, in which she called on the government to resign by the end of March or face nationwide strikes.

Sheikh Hasina re-affirmed that she will transfer power to a caretaker administration next month April the seventeenth to prepare for a general election in Bangladesh in June.
