Hamas outraged at British terrorist list

The Palestinian Islamic organisation, Hamas, has denounced Britain for placing its military division on a list of twenty-one organisations it has classed as terrorist.

In a statement, Hamas condemned what it said were the double standards operated by Britain.

It said it was exercising a legitimate right to defend the Palestinian people and liberate their land.

Hamas also accused Britain of giving into pressure from the United States.

The new British law aims to stop supporters of the twenty-one groups carrying out activities in Britain.
