Ammunition fire causes panic in Guinea
Officials in Guinea have called on people to remain calm, after a fire and an explosion at a military camp caused panic in the capital, Conakry. Fire broke out at an ammunition dump near the airport, sending up a plume of smoke, and causing the airport to be shut down for a short while. Correspondents say many people panicked fearing that fighting in southern Guinea had reached Conakry. Reports say the fire was caused by mishandling of ammunition.
