Uganda: seven people killed in ambush
Rebels in northern Uganda are reported to have killed seven people and wounded four others in an ambush in Gulu district. State radio said six men and one woman travelling to Gulu were shot when they drove into an ambush by the rebel Lord's Resistance Army LRA near the town of Cwero. The LRA has been fighting in the northern Ugandan districts of Gulu and Kitgum since 1988 in an effort to destabilise the goverment of President Yoweri Museveni.
