Putin begins Vietnam visit

After a welcoming ceremony in Hanoi, he began talks on a number of bilateral issues with his Vietnamese counterpart, Tran Duc Loung. It's the first time that a Russian or Soviet head of state has ever visited Vietnam. The two sides are expected to sign a series of bilateral trade agreements and to make a joint declaration on what officials describe as their strategic partnership.
