An estimated 15,000 people - more than half of them children - are infected with HIV every day. Add to that the 11 million who have been orphaned by AIDS and, says Carol Bellamy - the head of UNICEF - you have the devastation of a generation. In just a matter of a few years, a population equivalent to that of Spain will have lost their parents to the disease. She talks to David Jessel about children destined to live in poverty and neglect and what the UN can do about it.
