Chinese Dover deaths: trial opens
The trial has opened in Britain of a truck driver who was found with fifty-eight dead illegal Chinese immigrants in the back of his vehicle. They were found last June at the Channel port of Dover. The driver, Perry Wacker, from the Netherlands, denies charges of manslaughter, smuggling and conspiracy. The trial is expected to last six weeks. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
