Nicaragua: fourth presidential election for Ortega
Nicaragua's opposition Sandinista movement, the FSLN , has approved the party's leader and former president, Daniel Ortega, as their candidate in November's presidential elections. He'll be contesting the presidency for the fourth time, having served as the country's leader for the Sandinistas from 1986 until 1990, but failing twice since then to return the party to power. Correspondents say the Sandinistas' strong show in last year's local elections, when they took a number of key seats, has given the party a new sense of confidence ahead of the presidential contest this year.
