| "Billy Elliot" was voted outstanding British film at the BAFTA awards last night - Jamie Bell, who played the young boy from a mining village who becomes a ballet dancer - won Best Actor, with Julie Walters who played his dance teacher getting Best Supporting Actress award. Stephen Daldry directed "Billy Elliot" - and earlier I asked him whether he was pleased that the high emotional content of the film had proved to be a popular success |
