Violence mars Mexico free trade meeting

On the final day of a meeting of the World Economic Forum in Mexico, thirty people have been arrested in clashes between the police and anti-globalisation activists.

The unrest began after the protestors tried to force their way past a roadblock twenty kilometres from the site of the meeting, in the Caribbean resort of Cancun.

At least one person was injured.

Earlier, a small group of activists was allowed into the venue for talks with a delegation of businessmen, bankers and political leaders.

They're pressing for an alternative to the current global economic system.

It's the latest in a series of high-profile economic gatherings which have been disrupted by violence.
