Man critical after hit and run

A man is critically ill in hospital after a hit and run incident in north Belfast on Sunday night.

The 35-year-old was knocked down at Brookvale Avenue in the Antrim Road area of the city.

The blue Ford Fiesta car involved did not stop after hitting the man.

It was later found abandoned in nearby Oceanic Avenue.

The police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the accident or who may have seen someone running away from the abandoned car, to contact them.
