Two men are still being questioned about the murder of a man at a Belfast city centre fast food restaurant.

David Finn, 32, from Forthriver Parade in Belfast was stabbed in the crowded McDonald's branch on the corner of Donegall Place and Castle Junction on Friday afternoon.

He was taken to hospital, but died a short time later.

A number of witnesses have already come forward but the police have renewed their appeals for anyone who witnessed the attack to contact them.

They want to speak to four school pupils and an off-duty nurse who were in the restaurant.

The police said the pupils were wearing Hunter House College uniforms.

The nurse gave first aid at the scene.

Acting detective superintendent Gary Stewart said police had not established a motive for the stabbing.

Over the Christmas and New Year period, there were a number of fatal stabbings in Northern Ireland.

It prompted politicians to express concern about a growing knife culture in the province.
